Yeah, worked on the Didi Mini today.
Did more 'fitting of the keel box'.
On Monday I dropped the 9 mm keel box bottom plate off at the machine shop to bend it to fit the bottom of the hull.

He also formed the keel bearing holders as well. They over formed the pieces as it was a lot easier for me to flatten them out than to bend some more.

I used a hammer and a block of wood to persuade the plate to fit the keel bottom. I ended up using a 6 foot section of 2 x 8 to get the best result.

This is a shot of the bottom plate sitting in place.

I then fit the end pieces in and trimmed the bottoms to fit the keel plate. Before trimming.

After trimming.

I ended up having to cut a new end plate as this one was two short.... Measure twice, cut once....
I also chamfered the keel box pieces per the drawings.
I will take it over to the machine shop on Monday to have them start to weld it together.
Got to work for 3 hours today. Weather is really nice here. Fall has arrived.
